KCCR is an international research centre within the College of Health Sciences, KNUST, employing about 300 staff and acting as a hub for biomedical research and innovation in West Africa.
As Head of Finance and Administration you will ensure efficient management and sustainable development of KCCR’s administrative, financial, and operational structures.

As Head of Finance and Administration you will ensure efficient management and sustainable development of KCCR’s administrative, financial, and operational structures.
You will work closely with the Ghanaian Scientific Director and the BNITM Managing Director in Hamburg.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial, administrative, and HR functions in compliance with Ghanaian law and BNITM standards
- Lead budgeting, grant management, and donor reporting for international funding agencies
- Supervise audits and ensure timely implementation of recommendations
- Contribute to strategic development and governance of KCCR
- Foster collaboration between KCCR, BNITM, KNUST and international partners
Your Profile:
- University degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field (Master`s degree preferred)
- At least five years’ professional experience, incl. three years in senior management
- Proven expertise in budgeting, grant management, and HR administration
- Sound knowledge of Ghanaian labour, procurement and tax regulations
- Excellent intercultural and communication skills; experience in African research settings is an asset
- Fluent in English (spoken/written); German proficiency is an advantage
- Strategic thinker with a service-oriented mindset and hands-on leadership approach
- Willingness to work on-site in Kumasi and travel occasionally to Hamburg and within Africa
