Clinical monitor (m/f/d)

Description of the position:
The Clinical Research Department is looking for a highly motivated clinical monitor (CRA) to support the team in the monitoring of clinical drug and vaccine trials in English and French-speaking countries in sub-Saharan Africa. As part of the monitoring activities, the CRA travels to African partner sites to monitor academic and regulatory clinical trials and to ensure high quality of study conduct and data. Travel requirements include travels to places with security threats like Nigeria or Ethiopia. The CRA is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of QM measures and will accompany the sites through all steps of a clinical trial including trial preparation, site initiation, interim monitoring activities and close out. The CRA needs to ensure trial conduct in accordance with applicable rules and regulations, GCP and the study protocol. He/ she will prepare monitoring reports and keep the project management team at BNITM, sponsors and other stakeholders up to date.

Scope of work:
- Site assessments
Monitoring of clinical trials
o from the preparation of study documents to archiving
o from site initiation to close out - Communication with teams in an international and intercultural context
- Source Data Verification
- Remote monitoring activities
- Management of (e)TMF
- As part of the monitoring activities, travels to sub-Saharan Africa including Nigeria or Ethiopia are necessary. Applicants should be aware and willing to travel to environments with potential security risks within the scope of the research projects
Your profile:
- University degree in a natural science or medical discipline, or a degree in a related field of life sciences, e.g. health sciences or public health
- Experience in monitoring clinical trials
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Proficiency in spoken and written French is an asset
- Independent and timely management of tasks
- Skills in intercultural communication
- Work experience in sub-Saharan Africa
- Diligent and thriving in challenging situations
- Motivation, team spirit, flexibility
- Desire to travel and willingness to work in remote African regions

Starting date will be as soon as possible.
