With immediate effect we invite applicants for a position for
Medical Writing, Science Management & Communication (m/f/d)
at the Department of Clinical Research
Your role is to assist the Head of the Department in drafting scientific papers focussing on clinical research, in the field of Tropical Medicine. In addition to medical writing and communication of research outcomes, the position is envisaged to assist in the coordination of research projects within the department and with our partners in Germany, Europe, and particularly in Africa, where many of the department’s studies are implemented.
Scope of Work:
- You are responsible for drafting scientific manuscripts (clinical trials, case reports, systematic reviews, opinion papers, commentaries, etc.)
- You summarize data from tables, graphs, and figures produced by the research team and make the publications ready for submission to scientific journals
- You prepare documents and scientific reports (such as clinical study reports) for submission to regulatory authorities, ethics committees and to the other stakeholders involved in the project
- You prepare scientific presentations for congresses, conferences and workshops
- You shall be able to conduct independent and thorough research in medical literature and be able to summarize the most important aspects of the topic
- Moreover, you shall assist in the coordination of research projects (clinical trials and observational studies) and assist the study team in research related project management activities
- You are actively involved in preparing processes to communicate our research outputs to institutional, national and international audiences
- You have a scientific degree or a comparable qualification. Relevant training (medical writing, science communication, project management) is welcome
- Relevant professional experience (ideally at least 2 years) in a similar position
- Very good knowledge of spoken and written English and experience in medical writing in the field of clinical research
- Independent and timely management of projects
- Intercultural communication skills

- A fixed-term contract for 2 years full-time (or part time if preferred by the applicant) with the option of continued employment
- Remuneration according to TV-AVH (comparable to TVöD)
