The Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM, www.bnitm.de/en) is the largest Research Institute for Tropical Medicine in Germany and member of the Leibniz Research Association, the National Reference Centre for Tropical Pathogens, and a WHO Collaborating Centre.

The Structural Virology group led by Prof. Maria Rosenthal at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM) in Hamburg is looking for a motivated

Student assistant (m/f/d)
 

To support our team in the daily laboratory routine, we are looking for a student assistant for the preparation of medium, buffers and stock solutions. In addition, there will be the opportunity to work on exciting scientific projects and learn methods from the field of molecular biology, virology and protein biochemistry. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.

The position is financed by third-party funds and is initially limited until September 30th
2027.

What we expect:

  • University student enrolled in life sciences or related fields
  • Practical experience with working in the laboratory
  • High motivation to learn new methods
  • Detailed documentation of experiments
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Fluent oral and written English
  • Strong team spirit and communication skills
